Why is Your Car Engine cannot Rev up and has Low Power

Image
Most of the the new model vehicles now are equipped with many accessories, aimed at improving the power output, fuel economy and reducing emissions.  By the time these parts/accessories begin having faults due to wears or accumulation of dirt, the vehicle will start to malfunction. There're many reasons for a problem of acceleration for many vehicles but few cases are discussed below If your car's engine not rev up more than 3000 rpm when you pressed throttle pedal down completely, check the following parts of the engine: Catalyst A catalytic converter is a car's component that's used for emission and polluton control. It's a metal canister installed in the exhaust system. It's filled with chemical catalyst, usually a platinum and palladium mixture, and helps to convert  the vehicle's emissions into non harmful gases.  The blockage of the catalyst will cause the engine hard breathing and consequently, will have revving issues, as exhaust gas will not move fr

P2185 is a trouble code, showing engine coolant temperature sensor 2 circuit is high  2008 Honda Accord  coolant temperature sensor  Click Here to read about coolant temperature sensor of toyota vehicles when the ECU  of the vehicle is not receiving signal from the coolant sensor or the signal reaching the ECU is low, it'll set that code P2185 and pop up the check engine light.  Symptoms of p2185 the only noticeable symptom is the check engine light, at times the engine may run on rich mixture, causing poor fuel economy. Possible causes of p2185 WATCH THE VIDEO sensor being removed blocked or leaking thermostat low coolant level  air bubble in the cooling system bad coolant temperature sensor Possible solution of p2185 check the sensor location and make sure it's not being removed, especially when you replace the radiator. the brand new radiator don't usually come with the coolant temperature sensor but a drain plug. You need to replace the drain plug with the sensor befor

What you need to know about your car Knock Sensor

Image
Don't ruin your car engine.  Trial and error sucks Know sensor  Knock sensor  Knock sensor  Circuit Description  A flat type knock sensor (non–resonant type) has the structure that can detect vibration in a wider band of the frequency from about 6 kHz to 15 kHz and has the following features. Knock sensors are fitted on the cylinder block to detect engine knocking. The knock sensor contains a piezoelectric element which generates voltage when it becomes deformed. The generation of the voltage occurs when the cylinder block vibrates due to the knocking. If the engine knocking occurs, in order to suppress it, the ignition timing is retarded. MONITOR DESCRIPTION The knock sensor, located on the cylinder block, detects spark knocks. When the spark knocks occur, the sensor picks–up vibrates in a specific frequency range.  When the ECM detects the voltage in this frequency range, it retards the ignition timing to suppress the spark knock. The ECM also senses background engine noise with

P0116-Engine coolant temperature circuit range/performance in Toyota Vehicles

Engine coolant temperature sensor helps: In sensing engine coolant temperature and overall engine temperature it helps the ECU/PCM to properly control the fuel injector pulse rate, especially at colder temperature to improve engine performance and avoid stalling  improving drivability, at colder engine temperature it helps in maintaining optimum fuel economy SYMPTOMS OF P0116 IN TOYOTA  Check engine light on hard acceleration, especially at colder engine temperature excessive fuel consumption intermittent engine misfiring - at times everything seems alright, next minute you'll feel difficulty in revving the engine, with shooting sound. You'll have to press hard on the throttle pedal before the engine can move. at times you'll resolve the exhaust is restricted, at other times, the symptom will be that of a bad fuel pump. at times you'll count a misfire from number 1 cylinder. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THIS SYMPTOMS AND NO DTCs, it's likely that you have a bad fuel pum

Why you need your own car scanner as a car owner

Image
As a car owner, you need at least a basic auto diagnostic tool to help you have the first hand knowledge of your vehicle, even before you call a mechanic.  When an original diagnostic tool detected a fault on your vehicle, it will suggest some ways and steps you will take to fix that problem.  If you're connected to Internet, it'll link you to video tutorials of how that particular problem is being solved. What does this means to you? You reduced your repair cost,  when you have the first-hand knowledge of your vehicle, your calling a mechanic is to just tell him what he'll help you do, already, there's no need for further diagnosis,  he/she will hardly lie to you as a means of extorting  some extra money from you  You'll hasten the work as you're going straight to where the fault is, there'll be no need for trial and error. When you earlier diagnose an early check engine light,  it'll  be easier for you to solve it, preventing the faults from escalating
